      How to play

      • Get in: Quick play joins an open room, or create one and share its code. The host picks the game, the mode and the difficulty.
      • Type the random letters (or words) shown. Every game uses them differently: see the games below.
      • Mistakes cost you: time and accuracy in the race, a crack in your candy, a slip of the rope, a marble or your typed code wiped out, depending on the game.
      • Eliminated? You watch the rest of the game. In multi-round modes, the last one standing wins.

      The games

      Red Light, Green Light

Type to run toward the doll while the chant plays. Green light: type. Red light: the doll turns; any key eliminates you (a quarter of a second to react). A wrong letter doesn't move you, but it costs time and accuracy. Cross the line within 60 s.

      Honeycomb

Carve your candy (○ △ ☆ ☂) by typing the letters around its outline. No lights, just precision: each mistake cracks it (Easy allows 2 cracks, Normal 1, Hard none) and one more breaks it. Finish within 60 s.

      Tug of war

Two teams, each player typing their own letters. Correct letters pull the rope toward your side, mistakes slip it back, and pulls count double during HEAVE! Drag the other team over the line, or hold the rope after 60 s.

      Marbles

Players are paired off with 10 marbles each. Both see the same short code: the first to type it takes a marble, and a wrong key wipes what you typed. Take all 10 to win; run out and you're out. At 60 s, more marbles wins, and a tie goes to one last code. With an odd number of players, one sits out and keeps their marbles.

      Glass bridge

Cross one at a time. Each step has two glass panes with a word or code: type the one you trust. The wrong pane breaks and you fall, but the players behind learn the safe one. Take too long (about 9 s per step) and you're pushed onto a random pane.

      Game modes

      Single race

Everyone races the same random letters once. The first across the line wins.

      Rounds with points

Race 3, 5 or 7 rounds. Finishing 1st out of n players earns n points, 2nd earns n−1, and so on. Eliminated players score 0. The highest total wins.

      Grand tournament

All five games in a row, one per round. Losers are out, but at least 3 players always reach the Glass bridge final.

      Last man standing

Each round, anyone caught moving on red or out of time is eliminated, and so is the slower half of the finishers. Rounds continue until one player is left. Eliminated players watch the rest.

In multi-round modes every round gets harder: more letters and shorter green lights.

      Difficulty

      • Easy: 30 lowercase letters
      • Normal: 50 lowercase letters
      • Hard: 70 letters with capitals, so Shift counts

Up to 64 players per room. Create a room and share the invite link to play with friends.

A multiplayer typing race inspired by Squid Game

Type Games is a free typing race you play in the browser with friends or against bots. Like TypeRacer, you win by typing fast and clean; unlike it, the races are the playground games of Squid Game: Red Light, Green Light, Honeycomb, Tug of war, Marbles and the Glass bridge. No sign-up, nothing to install.

Is this a Squid Game typing game?
It's inspired by the games of the show, not an official product. Every race is a typing version of a playground game: freeze on red light, carve the honeycomb, pull the rope, duel for marbles, cross the glass bridge.
How is it different from TypeRacer?
TypeRacer is a straight race over a text. Here the text is random letters or common words, and each game adds its own rule: a key pressed on red light eliminates you, a typo cracks your candy or wipes your code. You can also play alone against bots, in rounds, or in a tournament where the last one standing wins.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Free, no account, no installation. Open the page, pick a name, press Quick play.
      How many players can race?
Up to 64 in one room. Create a room and share its link or QR code, or make it public so anyone can join. Alone? Add up to 7 bots.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in the browser, and you can install it as an app from the browser menu.
